Robert Cervera was born in Barcelona in 1976 and now lives and works in London. In his own words:
"I work from the material, whether concrete or air, paying attention to its leaky ways. My sculptures riff on containment and flow, structure and formlessness, armature and flesh.
I'm interested in the infrastructure that quietly surrounds us - and in finding ways to make it visible. I keep an open research on the ways we contain and herd shapeless assets such as water and data, and how similar materials and constructs are deployed in those efforts.
Music and live performance have found their way in as additional tools that help me prod the digital side of our world. I explore the physicality of the digital through some of the materials (liquid cooling pipes, code, concrete) that make its existence possible."
