I am the stars, you are the light serves as a homage to the expansive skies of the “Wild West”, a theme that has long informed Webb's artistic journey and hints at the symbiotic relationship between humanity and the natural. The painting is a celebration of nature and its creations and portrays a cluster of flowers. Its intricate background with vibrant hues, evokes a surreal hallucinatory journey – an aesthetic resonance with the landscapes that have fuelled Webb's inspiration: the Peyote cactus can be found in the desert areas of the American Southwest.
From his childhood, Webb dreamed of the American West, later channelling these dreams into paintings, depicting the visions that filled his imagination and immersed himself in the landscape he had long obsessed over. Settling in Texas, he set into deeper exploration of his connection with the land exploring the relationship between humanity and the natural world.
