In I am untamed - painted in acrylic, oil and oil pastel, with the addition of glitter on canvas - Webb celebrates the dense wilderness of a lush undergrowth. We can observe a diverse array of plants that blend together creating an overlapping tapestry of nature which includes a spider on its web. The title alludes to his long standing fascination with, and personal connection to, the untamed landscape of the American West. This admiration manifests in vibrant, instinctive portrayals that serve as gateways into humanity's intrinsic bond with nature. Through his work, Webb initiates a dialogue between the imagined and the tangible, creating dreamy scenes that place themselves at the intersection of fantasy and reality. The paintings explore a liminal space where fantastical or imagined elements intersect with real-world contexts. Webb's works are contemplations of the ordinary facets of nature, presenting the wonder and beauty in its mundanity.
