In Where is my jungle, a mixed-media painting with acrylic, oil and oil pastel on canvas, Webb pays homage to the vegetal world. The work presents a variety of plants and leaves painted in vivid hues, forming a botanical tangle that evokes almost mystical or magical ambience. The title directly nods to Webb's enduring fascination with the wild landscapes of America which finds expression in vivid depictions that act as travels into humans’ connection with the natural world. Through his exploration of space, where fantastical elements merge with real-world settings, Webb offers a sneak-peak into a jungle; a window through which the viewer can contemplate the enchanting allure of nature's everyday manifestations. This “ordered dreaminess” serves as a meditation on the ordinary aspects of nature's creations, revealing the marvel and splendour within its most common occurrences.
