The title of this drawing in graphite and charcoal on paper suggests the dissolution of the human form and body, as it disintegrates, under the burden of the mundane, repetitive tasks of daily life. The figure in the drawing appears feral, transforming into an octopus-like creature and the untamed hair morphs into tentacles. As people become absorbed in the mundanity of their routine, they transform into creatures, as if they were simply driven by instinct. Taylor reflects on how in our daily lives we are constrained by repetitive tasks, often relegated to the same locales, almost on autopilot.
