In Nothing the Same, Taylor presents a masked figure whose identity is protected beneath hieroglyphic-like inscriptions. The mask and face make-up cover its eyebrows, cheeks and nose. The hair, resembling a synthetic wig, adds an unsettling absurdity, an artificial addition to a being already eroded by time.
